FAQ & Jewelry Care

**JEWELRY CARE**

The regular use of chemical liquid jewelry cleaners is discouraged, as they can result in a discoloration of the metal. Always remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or cleaning with household chemicals, especially ones containing bleach or ammonia.

Sterling silver typically requires minimal care. Over time, your jewelry may tarnish. This is a result of constant contact with your skin's natural oils, make-up residue, dirt, and air. When it will not be worn for a extended amount of time, store your jewelry in a container or jewelry box. Leaving silver out in open air will promote discoloration and tarnishing. The safest, and most effective way to preserve the bright and shiny finish on your sterling silver is to wash regularly with soap and warm water then wipe gently with a soft polishing cloth.

Care for gold and platinum is very similar to sterling silver. Though these metals will scratch less and tarnish much slower, a gentle wipe with a polishing cloth every now and then may help revive your jewelry's luster. For 14K white gold, there is a special plating know as Rhodium which enchances the white color and mirror-like shine. Rhodium, like all plating material, eventually wears off. Expect to have your jeweler re-apply this finish every eight months to a year, depending on wear and preference.
